British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Car Crash

Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has been released from care, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his team members.

Under Observation for Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”
